Even so, Jian Suiying felt uncertain inside. Anyone could make polite conversation, but when it came to getting things done later, he'd have to keep pushing.

After the meal, Jian Suiying barely managed to see everyone off before collapsing. Leaning on the table, he began vomiting, startling the waitstaff.

Li Yu watched him, his face drained of color, hair damp with sweat. Though the smell made he feel sick, he wrinkled him nose and helped him up.

Unfortunately, his constitution was too robust for even such a simple wish to come true.

Li Yu grabbed a napkin and roughly wiped his mouth before instructing the waiter to book two rooms at the hotel. She then half-dragged, half-carried Jian Suiying into one of them.

He instructed the driver to sleep in the adjacent room while he tended to Jian Suiying first. Once on the bed, Jian Suiying lay motionless, only groaning in discomfort.

Li Yu tore off his tie, slipped into comfortable slippers, sighed, then hoisted Jian Suiying from the bed into the bathroom. He poured a cup of water for him to rinse his mouth.

Jian Suiying shook his head, saying nothing and refusing to open his mouth.

"Brother Jian, rinse your mouth out. Quickly."

Jian Suiying's voice was hoarse. "Let me... sleep..."

Li Yu grew impatient, pressing the cup to his lips and forcing the water down. Jian Suiying choked and coughed, fine beads of sweat forming on his temples.

After he finished rinsing, Li Yu hoisted him back onto the bed and laboriously stripped off his vomit-spattered clothes.

Li Yu had shielded Jian Suiying from several rounds of drinking today and endured a long car ride. He was genuinely exhausted and had no desire to deal with Jian Suiying.

After all, seeing this man suffer misfortune and embarrassment was deeply satisfying.

Unfortunately, he hadn't forgotten that he was still his assistant. Leaving his boss in this state would be impossible to justify the next day.

Fortunately, unlike last time, Jian Suiying lacked the strength to make advances. Li Yu managed to slip off his outer garments without incident.

Li Yu instantly tensed up, as if springing into a defensive posture.

"Li Yu..." Jian Suiying called out in a daze.

Li Yu turned to look at him, his head tilted as he watched with eyes narrowed to slits.

"Water... go get me a glass of water..."

Li Yu hesitated, then retrieved a bottle of mineral water from the refrigerator. He helped Jian Suiying sit up and brought the bottle mouth

to his lips. "Drink."

Jian Suiying gulped down a couple of mouthfuls before pushing the bottle away. "Go buy some hangover medicine."

The young master Jian, accustomed to giving orders, had shown some restraint toward Li Yu when sober. Now, however, he held nothing back.

Li Yu pushed him away and started to leave.

But Jian Suiying’s body tilted sideways, his head finally slumping limply onto Li Yu’s crotch. Li Yu jumped in surprise.

Li Yu sprang to his feet and hurried out of the room.

The moment the door slammed shut, Jian Suiying slowly opened her eyes, revealing a smug smile.

Too bad his limbs were completely useless. Otherwise, his drunken advances might have been more successful, he thought regretfully before slipping into a deep, uninterrupted sleep.

He slept for a full fourteen hours, a deep, uninterrupted slumber. When Young Master Jian finally rose, though still feeling lightheaded, he was much better than yesterday.

He quickly showered, thoroughly cleaned himself up, took his cold medicine, and finally called Li Yu.

"Hey, Little Li, where are you?" "In my room."

"I'm well-rested now. Come over."

The door swung open to reveal Li Yu standing expressionless outside, accompanied by his perpetually dopey-looking driver, Xiao Zhao.

Jian Suiying glanced down at his current outfit. Even with his thick skin, he felt a wave of embarrassment wash over him. His voice tinged with irritation, he snapped:

"I told you to come alone. Why did you bring Xiao Zhao?" "I thought you were awake and ready to go back."

"Who said I was going back? Xiao Zhao, you go back to your room and wait."

The young driver had been admiring his boss's eight-pack abs and long legs with envy, but the tone suddenly felt off.

and quickly scurried away.

He called out to Li Yu: "Come in. I need to discuss a few things with you." Li Yu followed Jian Suiying into the room.

Li Yu thought to himself, Even if you did go back naked, you wouldn't bat an eyelid.

"Should I go buy you some clothes?"

"Yeah, go buy me some clothes. Also, my head still hurts and my throat feels rough. Go see what medicine I need..."

...Do you know my size?" As he uttered the last sentence, Jian Suiying seemed to realize how suggestive it sounded

and gave a suggestive laugh, teasingly looking at Li Yu.

That seemingly casual glance, however, seemed to Jian Suiying to be full of allure. He froze for two seconds before snapping back to reality.

Disappointed at his failed teasing, he dismissed the matter hastily: "Then hurry up and get it done. Oh, and have the hotel send breakfast up to me."

."

Ever since Li Yu became his assistant, he insisted on having her handle even the simplest tasks he could easily do himself. He thoroughly enjoyed

every little thing Li Yu did for him.

After Jian Suiying finished breakfast in the room, Li Yu returned with clothes and medicine.

The clothes fit him well. After taking his medicine, he led Li Yu out the door.

Once seated in the car, Xiao Zhao asked: "Where to, Mr. Jian?"

Li Yu also looked at him.

Jian Suiying gave an address, then smiled at Li Yu: "To visit my old man." Jian Suiying bought a pile of tonics on the way, and they made their grand entrance to his grandfather's residence.

. Owning such prime real estate in this location was incredibly lucrative. It was a shame it was now being used for raising chickens and growing vegetables—such a waste.

Xiao Zhao waited in the car while he and Li Yu got out carrying their things.

Though his hair was half-gray, the old man stood alert at the doorway, pipe clenched between his teeth. He smiled the moment he saw them get out. "Grandpa!" Jian Suiying called out happily.

"You little rascal finally found time to visit me!" Old Master Jian gave Jian Suiying a hard pat on the back. Jian Suiying hissed, "Grandpa, with a hit like that, you'll definitely live to be 120."

Old Master Jian laughed and scolded, "What good is living that long? Wasting the nation's grain! Come on in. Hey, who's this youngster?"

"Oh, Grandpa, this is Mr. Li's grandson." "Huh? Old Li's grandson? He's grown so tall?" "That's right."

"My, my." Old Master Jian looked Li Yu up and down. "I remember seeing you when I was a child—though you surely don't remember me. What's the child's name again?"

Li Yu respectfully nodded: "My name is Li Yu."

Li Yu laughed along with him.

"Come on in."

Jian Suiying said as she walked inside: "Grandpa, I came in a hurry, so I just bought you some things locally."

Old Master Jian glanced at the winterworm summergrass, sea cucumbers, bird's nests, and such, then said with a look of disdain, "Take them back. I

don't want this junk. Mark my words, eating this stuff will only kill you faster. If you want longevity, you gotta live like me

, eating pesticide-free, pollution-free vegetables I grow myself every day."

Jian Suiying chuckled awkwardly. "Right, right, whatever you say is right. But I came all this way specially—you really should accept them.

or at least for the people in your house?"

A middle-aged couple emerged from the house, calling out, " ! Young Master is here!" as they took the items from their hands.

The old man had four caregivers at home. During particularly busy times like planting and harvest, they hired extra help.

, so he never felt lonely.

The walk from the main gate to his quarters took a full two or three minutes. Li Yu gazed at the patches of vegetable plots, seeming quite fascinated.

Jian Suiying smiled as she pointed things out to him. "This is a plum tree. It's not the right season now, but in another month,

. This pumpkin variety is excellent—small but exceptionally sweet."

Jian Suiying exclaimed excitedly: "Sounds great! Is the boat ready?"

Jian Suiying laughed heartily: "Grandpa, you underestimate me! Just you wait."

Jian Suiying took the snacks and water the housekeeper had prepared for them, then headed to the lake with Li Yu in high spirits.

Every time he visited his grandfather, he insisted on taking the boat out fishing. The scenery was picturesque, the air crisp, and the area sparsely populated.

. He'd anchor the boat in the lake's center with snacks and drinks, fish, read a novel, and let his mind go blank. Spending a lazy afternoon like this was pure bliss.

spending the afternoon in blissful relaxation.

Now he'd have the pleasure of taking the lovely Li Yu along. The very thought made Young Master Jian beam.

Jian Suiying called out from a distance, "Uncle Yang."

"Young master, you're here! The boat's ready for you, and all the fishing gear is already on board." "Thanks, Uncle Yang."

Jian Suiying and Li Yu boarded the boat. Jian Suiying skillfully maneuvered the vessel toward the lake's center.
